Eat 2 Win Challenge for Athletes

TBA

General Impression
An app designed specifically for athletes, however it has a lot of cross over use for anyone looking to track and log their eating habits with guidance from customized meal plans. Its primary purpose is to create a team challenge and encourage group competition and engagement but it can still be used by an individual.

What’s Cool!
The meal plan guides arethe most unique. It provides a variety of foods to eat based on an individual’s weight management goals and caloric demands. Love the ability to create a team challenge and use peer motivation as a means to improve an athlete’s eating habits. Also an athlete can choose to give permission to certain key people to view, comment and rate their eating habits based on the pictures of the food they are eating.

What I wish the app did better!
Integration with wearable fitness devices would be pretty cool but fitness/exercise apps have become so specialized that it is probably more practical to use one of those apps to track a user’s fitness activity.

User activity goes into a timeline and can be filtered out so it’s easy to connect with others with similar goals. The app’s workout/exercise area is the most unique in that it provides short simple workouts that can be done almost anywhere. Each workout provides video examples of how to perform each exercise.

What I wish the app did better!
No ability to add your friends to your community. You have to interact with the app’s community members and you have no ability to follow or connect with them. You only interact with the most current topics/people in each thread. Also wish they provided more of their own content within the app in the form of blogs or tips.

Meal Logger

General Impression
An interesting and different approach for a nutrition app. No calorie calculator and the user enters in their target weight then begins to take pictures of what they eat and shares it within the apps community of members. No food to enter and no macro/micro analysis but just a cool tool to log a user’s eating habits.

What’s Cool!
Ability to add a professional to your network and allow them to see your tracking/log history and provide comments and feedback. If you do not have a professional to work with you can search their database and make a connection with one of their nutrition coaching professionals.

What I wish the app did better!
It would be cool if they built in some meal reminders within their app. Also would be nice to have them provide some nutrition content or tips on how to improve a user’s eating habits.
